wiesel uses this term as a rhetorical question because he is asking a question further to make the audience really think about this question. he is triyng to make the audience think about how " the millenium" is seen today and if tomorrow we will remember of what happened. the reader might be from a the new generation or the old generation so they will have different opinions.
